Hi all. Today I’m over at Compagnie M as part of the Mara Blog Action Tour. Compagnie M is a Belgian pattern company/sewing blog, run by the super talented Marte (she’s about to compete in the next season of Project Run and Play!!). Marte’s Mara Blouse pattern has been a super successful and very highly regarded pattern, but for some unknown reason, I hadn’t gotten around to sewing one until now.
Come on over to Compagnie M to read more and see more photos of my winter version of the Mara.
I’m joining the lovely Victoria of As It Seams over on her blog. She has a great series called ‘Take One Dress’ and today it’s my turn to make something. Come on over and have a look at what I made and at the inspiration dress I’ve found for the next participant. See you there!
A bit of sewing and some girl time – that is just about a perfect day for me 🙂 How perfect it was to be invited to participate in Jenya’s series You and Me today which is all about sewing and building relationships with our kids. Come on over to Jenya’s blog While She Was Sleeping and read all about it – just click here!
Today is my last guest post for the Kids Clothes Week blog spring season. I have been looking forward to this for months – the chance to ponder the question – why I sew? Ever since I read the posts of last seasons contributors on this topic, I have been thinking long and hard about how my motivations are the same and different to theirs. Anyway, I’ll see you over at the Kids Clothes Week blog and I’d love to hear how this post resonates with you. I’m seriously proud of this post, I think because the topic is so important to me.
Secondly, it has been very remiss of me not to have posted before now, but I was nominated for a Liebster award a few months ago from Another Sewing Blog – a keen sewing enthusiast from Sydney. Thanks so much!
Here are the questions she asked:
1. What is you favourite make?
Usually the latest one. At the moment it’s definitely this jacket because of the challenge of the Ottobre pattern.
2. What was the last movie/tv show/play/musical/album you enjoyed?
Ummm, I’m pretty boring in this department because I send so much time sewing. I’ve found that sewing and TV don’t mix so TV watching had to go. Having said that hubby and I are currently watching the last season of Mad Men which is one of my favourite shows of all time.
3. What made you smile today?
Something I got up to today with my daughter and a friend of mine who also sews and blogs. We had such a great time and there were tonnes of smiles – this is a bit of a hint, but I’m going to blog all about it in the next few days….
I’m very grateful to be given this award which acknowledges and supports small blogs – thanks Another Sewing Blog for your encouragement!
Hi all, I’m over at the Kids Clothes Week blog again today talking about something I love – that is, taking a basic pattern and using it in new ways. Come on over and see what inspiration you’ll find there today.
Hi everyone, today I’m very honoured to be guest posting over on the Kids Clothes Week blog. I’m sharing my fabric inspirations for the coming season for boys and for girls – I’d love it if you popped over to say hello, especially if you don’t sew for kids and don’t know what all the fuss is about 🙂 We’re gearing up for the next round of KCW, April 7-13 – time to start planning those projects!!
